Paving
Paving is an ongoing sculpture project that questions how psychological habits influence one’s perception of physical space. I intervene with the city by gathering elements of its physical infrastructure– paving stones, bricks, and demolition refuse. I gather these objects in my studio and alter them using lines reminiscent of traffic markings. Each object’s title references terms of psychological habits. Each is placed back in the city and marked on a google map, drawing a parallel between lenses of perception and the physical landscape.
